3 Ways to Achieve a Cozy Fall Home

Fall is here, and in the Northeast it brought tons of rain and strong winds. I feel like we didn’t get a proper transition from Summer to Fall, but we’ll make do. Just like so many others, I look forward to pulling out my sweaters and boots, drinking warm coffee, and cozying up under the covers for movie nights. However, what I want to achieve most this season is a Cozy Fall Home. In some ways, it feels like the year has just begun, and as we get closer to the end of the year, I want to do everything I can to make my space comfortable, warm, and inviting. If you are interested in doing the same, then here are 3 ways to make your home cozy in the Fall.

THROW BLANKETS

Throw blankets are a great way to make your home cozy, especially if you’re on a budget. They can serve multiple purposes, and they are extremely affordable. First, throw blankets can keep you warm. When you’re feeling a chill on a cool Fall evening, a throw blanket can be the perfect solution. A soft and fluffy accent blanket can really keep you warm but it is still light enough for Fall weather. Second, throw blankets can really add to the decor in your home. You can get blankets in many different colors, and they are reasonably priced, making them perfect for seasonal decor. Toss a throw blanket on the edge of your couch or at the end of your bed, and your space will look cozy and inviting. Check out Easy Tips for Decor, Part 2: Low-Cost Finds for more tips.

CANDLES

Candles are also multi-functional and a great way to make your home cozy. The right candle can really add to the ambience in a space and set the mood for cozy vibes. First, candles can provide a warm light in the darkness. When it’s late at night, and you turn the overhead lights off, you can light a candle for some soft lighting. Second, the scent of candles can create a comforting and nostalgic feeling. A scent can bring forth memories and feelings, and a Fall scent can provide some coziness to your home. Finally, a candle can provide a warm touch to a space. Candles are often used in home decor because they can complement other pieces of decor. Try adding some candles to your mantles, coffee tables, or bookshelves. If you need more ideas for decor, read Easy Tips for Decor Part 1: Simple Styling

BAKING

One sign of a cozy home, in my opinion, is the constant scent of delicious foods wafting from the kitchen, especially baked goods. The smell of cookies or pies can, especially in the Fall, make your home feel so cozy. Imagine coming in from a long and chilly day, and you are engulfed in the scent of spices or something sweet and chocolatey. Baking can make your home feel inviting, and it can keep you warm and comforted in the Fall. Try your hand at an apple pie or pumpkin spice brownies to get a cozy Fall home. You can find some of my recipes here, and a great Fall treat is Oatmeal Crumb Banana Muffins, or you can make your own Pumpkin Spice Coffee at Home for a warm and cozy drink.

BONUS: Fall Weather Activities

You can achieve a cozy Fall home when it’s filled with fun and laughter. Fall weather provides some very cool and rainy days where you might get stuck inside the house. Gather the family together and engage in some fun activities. You can read 3 Rainy Day Activities for some ideas. A house filled with happiness is the ultimate way to achieve a cozy Fall home.

I’m really looking forward to a cozy Fall home. It is exciting to come home after a long day and spend time in a space that is relaxing, warm, and inviting. Fall is the perfect time to work on making your home as comfortable as it can get before the year starts anew. I hope you take these tips into consideration and may you enjoy your cozy Fall home.

      Hey!

Thank you so much! The chair is the Lancaster Plaid Armchair from At Home. Unfortunately, they no longer sell it, but this one and similar ones make great additions to farmhouse style rooms. It’s really comfortable and so cute! You can search similar items by typing in the name to Google.
